Common questions
Do you supply parts, or do I?
Either works. I can source and install everything for you, or you can supply your own parts if you’d rather shop around. Just let me know when you book or during the estimate.
Do you work on Tohatsu outboards?
Yes, mechanically: oil, gear lube, impellers, plugs, fuel and cooling systems, and general troubleshooting. My diagnostic software doesn’t read Tohatsu engines, so if a problem needs dealer-level software, I’ll tell you up front.
Do you do warranty work?
No. I’m an independent mechanic, not a factory-authorized dealer, so manufacturer warranty repairs go through your brand’s dealer.
Will I be charged sales tax?
Under Florida law, only if parts or materials are left installed on the boat. A labor-only job isn’t taxed; a job where I supply and leave parts on board is taxed on the full amount. Every estimate makes this clear before you approve it.
How do I pay?
Your invoice arrives by email and can be paid securely online by card, no account needed.
Do you come to me?
For some jobs in Clermont, Tavares, Groveland and Mascotte, yes. Ask when you book. Most jobs are done fastest at the shop.
